I trained for 5 years at The Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education in Maida Vale, London. The training included a Foundation year, followed by a 4-year post graduate Diploma Course.
The Humanistic and Integrative approach to counselling and psychotherapy provides the broadest spectrum of knowledge in psychology research.
This ranges from the Freudian psychodynamic approach to the Jungian transpersonal perspective, and includes the use of CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) techniques.
The therapy may include - according to what best suits, and feels most comfortable for the individual person - talking about difficulties in everyday life experiences; how to cope better and manage relationships, social situations, work and career. And, looking at childhood experiences and family relationships, where helpful.
I also work with Dreams: their significance and perspective in connection with day to day life. Similarly we may use guided visualizations and meditations in the same way.
